The set begins with two individual pairings. Each pairing contains one Zerka Plate and one Zephyr Bowl.

 

The Zerka Plate provides a broad central surface with rising walls. The Zephyr Bowl offers greater depth and containment. Together, the two forms provide distinct options within each individual setting.

 

The Storka Bowl adds a shared layer between them. Its lower walls and open structure keep its contents visible and accessible from more than one position around the table.

 

 

The Daily Table Set is organised as:

 

• two Zerka Plates;
• two Zephyr Bowls;
• one Storka Bowl.

 

This two-plus-two-plus-one structure distinguishes the set from a collection of five interchangeable pieces. Four forms belong to the two individual settings, while the fifth is positioned for a shared dish.

 

The set does not include cups, side plates, cutlery or other components associated with a conventional dinner service.

 

 

Although organised around two individual settings, the five pieces do not need to be used together at every meal.

 

The plates and deeper bowls can be selected according to the food being served. The Storka Bowl may be added when a dish is placed between the two settings or used separately whenever an open serving form is useful.

 

“Daily” describes the set’s scale and structure. It does not prescribe one household type or one fixed way of eating.

 

 

The two Zerka Plates and two Zephyr Bowls remain recognisable examples of their respective forms, but they will not be mechanically identical.

 

Differences may appear in diameter, outline, wall height, depth, surface texture, cream, earth, grey and black tonal distribution, line placement and motif execution. The Storka Bowl participates in the same visual language while retaining its own lower and more open structure.

 

Handmade variation does not include cracks, sharp breaks, instability, delivery damage or an object materially different from its description.

Chmissa personally makes every piece included in the Daily Table Set at her home in Sejnane.

 

She prepares and shapes the clay by hand without using a potter’s wheel. Pressure, support and gradual adjustment allow the walls and profiles to develop as she works.

 

Chmissa also participates in marking, drying and outdoor firing the pieces. Birds, fish, lines and geometric arrangements recur across her work, while their exact placement and execution vary between individual objects.

Wash every piece by hand and dry it thoroughly.

 

Avoid prolonged soaking and sudden changes in temperature. Do not place the ceramics in a dishwasher, microwave, oven, freezer, on a stovetop or over direct flame.

 

Store the pieces securely and avoid unstable stacking. Use suitable protection between nested surfaces and ensure that the stack cannot shift or place excessive pressure on the pieces below.
