Essential Place Setting
A two-piece ceramic place setting designed for everyday meals.
This set combines the primary plate and bowl within the Artisan Ceramic Tableware collection, bringing together two forms that support the most common meal structures at the table.
Hand-formed in Sejnane, Tunisia, each piece is made from low-fired earthenware for daily food use.
The Essential Place Setting brings together the two core individual forms in the Artisan Ceramic Tableware collection.
Zerka supports composed meals that benefit from an open surface with gentle containment. Its rising walls help hold oil, sauce, and mixed textures while keeping the plate visually open.
Zephyr supports meals that gather more naturally in a bowl. Its balanced depth helps contain grains, stews, pasta, couscous, and other dishes that mix ingredients or carry liquid.
Together, these two pieces create a flexible everyday place setting that moves easily between plate-based and bowl-based meals.
This set works especially well for first homes, quiet daily use, and anyone building a ceramic table gradually through functional pieces.
Each piece is hand-formed using traditional Sejnane Pottery methods in northern Tunisia. Small variations in shape, rim alignment, and surface detail are part of the making process and give each set its own presence.
This set combines two complementary eating forms used across everyday meals.
Zerka provides an open plate for composed dishes, vegetables, breads, and meals that benefit from structure across the surface.
Zephyr provides a more contained form for meals that mix ingredients, hold sauce, or gather warmth more naturally in a bowl.
Together, they cover the core rhythm of daily eating through one plate and one bowl.
The Essential Place Setting is suited to many everyday meals, including:
-
pasta with sauce
-
couscous
-
grain and vegetable bowls
-
yogurt with fruit

Each piece in this set is hand-formed in Sejnane, a pottery region in the Northwest Highlands of Tunisia, known for its longstanding earthenware tradition.
The ceramics are made from low-fired earthenware and shaped individually by hand. Because of this process, slight variations in size, rim alignment, and surface finish may occur from piece to piece.
These variations are part of the material and making process.
